Our demanding schedules, roles, and tasks can take on a life of their own - sometimes to the point that ideas like "choice" and "meaning" feel like fleeting fancies.
Use therapy to strike a balance between the freedom that comes with your sense of choice and the meaning that arises from your sense of fulfilling a calling. Carve out the time and space to focus on what you may have placed on the back burner, and then go for it!

Health Professionals in Recovery.
Addictions and compulsive behaviors don't discriminate based on your profession, but accessibility of confidential services does.
It can be difficult for therapists and others in the helping professions to find therapeutic venues in which their role as service providers doesn't get blurred with their role as service recipients or participants.
Communities within the health professions tend to be small, and communities that focus on addictions services are even smaller. This can lead many who would like to do more recovery work - along with those who are in the middle of an addictive or compulsive cycle - to forego increased support.
The unnecessary shame that often accompanies troubling unacknowledged cravings or behaviors can then creep in to affect both your personal and professional life. You may feel particularly vulnerable if you find yourself contrasting any relative openness shown by your clients or patients with the secrets you feel compelled to hold so close.
As a CADC III, I offer a safe space in which you can let go of secrecy that stifles, let go of shame that shrouds, see yourself more clearly as the amazing expression of humanity that you are, and work toward realizing your full personal and professional potential. Your confidentiality is paramount in this process.
